my sims 3 won't work on my MacBook air

i got a MacBook air and this is what its got 

MacBook Air (11-inch, Late 2010)

processor 1,4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

memory 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB

the game starts up perfectly. when i enter create a household it just loads and thats all it does 

and when i select move in a household, i can buy the house. loads and doesn't go into the house just loads 

and when i wanna save it just loads and thats all it does 

please help

(PS i haven't installed any expansion packs)

    Hi @0_Thy_Unicorn_0,

    Is this the first time you tried to play since you installed your game? If so, it might be an issue with the installation, or a corrupted file. Did you install your game through Origin or using DVDs?

    hi. thanks for answering my question  

    I recently got a MacBook Pro from my dad  he has upgraded the memory a lot 

    this is what it said in about my Mac 

    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)
    Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    and now whenever I press the play button. it says insert disk. I have inserted the disk. 

    please help

    and yes I have played sims before 

    and there is no expansion packs
