Newly downloaded Sims 4 crashes whole Mac once running

Hello, I recently re-downloaded the sims 4, however after 5 mins of it running the game freezes and crashes my whole laptop.  I have the MacBook pro 2020, the system is completely up to date an...

A new game installation does not download a new Sims 4 folder. The Sims 4 folder is created when you launch the game and there is not a Sims 4 folder already in Documents > Electronic Arts.

Do you have vsync enabled in game settings > graphic options? if not enable it.
