Origin won’t download or open on MacBook

Please help. Origin is not opening to download on my new Mac laptop. I just bought this Mac to play sims and it is it working. When I download it I click on the origin.dmg file and it takes me to move the origin icon into the application folder, it goes in but when I click on it, it does not open or anything. Then it will say it is impossible to run origin inside of a origin folder and says move the origin into a application folder. When I do that It just jumps up and down in the toolbar. Then it disappears. It does not open at all or even try to start up. I got to the agreement part once and then nothing happened after that. Please help.

    @charide_simlover

    Your Mac is not powerful enough to play the Sims unfortunately and does not meet the requirements to run Origin. Origin needs OS X Mavericks 10.9 or later ☹️

    Yes, you will need a new computer which meets the requirements for Origin and Sims. Which Sims game do you want to play?

    Origin requirements:

    • macOS 10.9 Mavericks or later
    • Intel Core 2 Duo (i3 or later is preferable)

    I already have sims 3 and sims 4. But I am looking to play sims 4.

    Sims 4 requirements:

    • Minimum OS – Mac OS X Lion (10.7.5)
    • CPU – Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz or better
    • RAM – At least 4Gb RAM
    • Hard Drive – At least 14Gb of free space with at least 1Gb additional space for custom content
    • Video – NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT, ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro or better. Video RAM of 256MB or better.
    • Input – Keyboard and Mouse
    • Online Requirements: Internet Connection required for product activation

    I'm having trouble the same with a MacBook I've just got this Christmas. I used have an old white 2009 one and Sims 4 worked just fine on that (if a bit slow)

    Could a brand new MacBook not have the power to play it?
