Origin Won't Launch on Mac because of 'Hardware Requirements'
Hi there,
So when I tried to play Sims 4, like I have since I downloaded it earlier this week (which was a pain to download because of 'not responding' issues) it gave me an error. The error basically said my mac did not meet the 'Hardware Requirements'. I looked and I am pretty sure my mac meets the requirements. So I removed Origin from my mac and tried downloading it again (after multiple failed 'not responding' attempts) until a window finally popped up. It was the 'Hardware Requirements' error AGAIN.
(By the way I'm running a macbook pro (retina, 15-inch, mid 2014), Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7, I have well over 45 GB available storage, and Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB. Plus all my software is updated.)
Is there some special requirement that I don't know about that they decided mac needed overnight? Is anyone else having this issue? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting I should change? I have no idea what to do at this point. Any help would be great because I just started playing Sims and this is a pain in my butt.
Thanks.
Please make sure you remove Origin completely from your Mac then download and install it again. Just dragging the App to the Trash does not uninstall it properly:
Run the Origin reset tool - https://help.ea.com/en-sg/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
Then drag the App to the Trash, empty the Trash, restart your Mac, download Origin and install.
