Rainbow objects, discolored people/animals

A couple hours ago, whenever a sim (that wasn’t in my household) appeared or walked by in the game, they would turn purple/green/red or red/white and completely smoothed out with this weird pattern. I restarted/updated the game and quit Origin, but now it’s even worse. I went into build mode for another house but nearly EVERY block is covered with reddish purple squares with green question marks. How can I fix this??

(for reference, I started to download some custom content hair and furniture, but I didn’t get any script mods because I know those can mess with the game. I don’t think cc is causing this?)

The only expansion pack I have is Cats and Dogs. The animals turned black (I know this issue was addressed in other posts, but sometimes they glitch into random shades of brown or red/white if I pan the camera).

    Update: only the houses in Brindleton Bay, the objects from the cats and dogs expansion, and pets/people from the pack are experiencing this glitch!!

    Yes, this is very similar, except I don’t have the invisible sim problem; my sims with the special CAS items from cats and dogs are the only ones that are affected and they have that same red/white/black pattern. I found that if I changed the hair to one of the styles from the base game, it sometimes turns them back to normal, but build mode for Brindleton Bay houses is COVERED in those question mark squares.

    I tried removing all cc from the mods folder and it didn’t change anything. Then, I backed up the Sims 4 game file with my saved game onto a hard drive and my desktop too, and uninstalled the game. I reinstalled and it had all of my data and nothing was changed. I think the issue is only with the cats and dogs pack?
