Rainbow wheel of death

Hi everyone! Wasn’t sure if there was a thread about this or not so please move it or point me in the right direction if incorrect. Whenever my MacBook Air(early 2015 model running Mojave) sleeps and I wake it up while I’m playing or if I’m playing and I go out of the game for a second to the desktop and then go back, my game freezes and I get the rainbow spinning wheel of death and the only fix is to force quit my game. How do I know if this an app issue with origin or if this is a Mac issue? Either way does anyone know how to fix that?

How much other stuff do you have open? Your Mac may be struggling to cope with the load you are placing on it. Does it happen if you quit absolutely every other app you have open, including background apps like antivirus/adblockers/monitoring etc.

I am having the same issue, even if the Sims is the only thing I have running. Before I installed discover university, I could change between sims and other screens with no issue.

Now it freezes up and there is no way to get the game running again without forcing it to close.

I am also experiencing this problem, and I am using Mojave version 10.14.6.
