Is it common to lose the saves when you move the folder to desktop? and from now on is not connected at all to EA app? so no updates or dowloading community content?
Just had this question in mind, I don't understand why such a hard path just to play this game hahaha XD

Yes, that is the purpose of moving the Sims 4 folder as, more often than not, problems with the game launching are related to user data such as Mods or saves, in the Sims 4 folder - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M163
