I've tried to repair it when it first happens I'll try again though

The option isn't coming up for some reason

Ok. Please can you try this:
In your Applications folder right click on the Sims 4 app and select Show Package Contents.
Navigate to Contents > Mac OS.
Right click on The Sims 4 and select Move to Trash. Don't drag the file as it will only move an alias and leave the original in place. If there is another file in the folder, The Sims 4.par, leave it alone.
Now open Origin, click on The Sims 4 in your Games Library and click on Download. - ApprovedAnonymous8 years ago
Okay, I'll try it but first will it remove anything because my last save was over a year ago but if it comes to that I will just move to trash.
No but it's always worth backing up, just in case 🙂

When you said navigate from contents to Mac os, how do you do that because I right clicked it and it won't come up with the other options
You right click on the game in your Applications folder and select Show Package Contents. In the Finder window that opens go to Contents > MacOS.

I finally had time to do it, I'm currently re downloading, it says it's taking 1hour and about 45minutes, is that normal?

Nevermind, It shortened to 40 minutes.

Now it says "You cannot open the application "The Sims 4" because it may be damaged or incomplete.
Ok. It may be corrupted. Can you right click on it in your Origin Games Library and select Repair Game?

It won't even come up in my game library

The same screens that came up before are back, but now there's a big white x around the sims 4 when I try to open it on spotlight search
Can you post a screenshot?
Please can you also provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612396/highlight/true#M162

Hi, I'm sorry I've been super busy lately so I haven't been able to reply. My brother said I should try opening the game through finder and when I tried it said that the game may be damaged or incomplete.

So I decided to move the sims to my desktop to open it and my ENTIRE game has restarted and I'm freaking out, all of my packs have restarted, my entire game, and my custom content. I don't care that much about the game it's just I would like to keep my custom content since I liked the items I had in it
Why did you move it to the Desktop? The Sims game icon should be in your Applications folder. Your game data - saves, CC etc. is in the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts. If you have moved out that Sims 4 folder to your desktop then the game will start as new again and create a new folder in Documents > Electronic Arts. Your previous saves, CC etc. will be in the folder you moved.

My friend had a very similar problem and that worked for her and many other people I have seen but it actually helped cause it created a new mods folder for my game so I moved my custom content into that folder and my game is now working
