Re: MAC - Unable to connect to EA servers to activate Sims 4

FIRST: Look at this! http://help.ea.com/en/article/origin-currently-experiencing-intermittent-issues/ Yay! Fixes cominggggg!

I have exactly the same problem. I already chatted with EA like 3 times (don't worry, waiting times can get up to 30 minutes...) and I also asked for a callback. Nobody knew what could solve the problem (Or they did, but it didn't solve this problem anyways...), and everything that we've tried simply did, not, work! On the telephone they told me to wait 'til the next update and wait for more people to notice this neck-breaking problem. Well I had good service, which is very rare according to some people! Really thank you for that EA! 🙂 But if they won't solve this problem before my 7-days-refund time is over, I'm going to ask my money back. ☹️

Well, I first got this message: activation.dll is missing, The Sims 4 is not installed correctly, please reinstall the Sims 4

Then I got this one, and it kept coming back, even after repairing the game via the Origin Client, and reinstalling: Couldn't connect with EA to activate The Sims 4 on this computer with this account

What I've already tried (and of course... did not work for me):

1. Reinstall Origin correctly and remove EVERY single file of it. (http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/)

2. Reinstall The Sims 4 like, more than a hundred times... (Btw, now I can't even download it anymore... Origin keeps giving me errors of my internet connection. Well, that ain't the problem EA! I traveled to more than 5 places to log in to other WiFi spots or connect to other Ethernet spots. And it's also not a problem with my MacBook... Internet even got faster sometimes!)

3. Look if there are any solutions on other discussions: (There isn't even a solution for this problem on Windows.. People had the same problem in 2014, and they still don't have an answer, damn EA, you really did it.)

4. I tried EVERYTHING mentioned to do on these discussions. Didn't work.

5. http://help.ea.com/in/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/ DID NOT WORK!

6. http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-do-i-verify-and-repair-mac-disk-permissions/ Nope! DID NOT WORK! I even repaired my hard drive, nothing helped.

7. Looked if my firewall was blocking some connections. Nope, nothing changed...

8. I even removed all my extra accounts on this MacBook to see if that solved anything! Because I thought that you could use all applications on each account...

9. They've even given me a new product code and removed my purchased one to see if that could solve anything.

10. They referred to this forum: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/Info-Sims-4-Download-amp-Installation-amp-Startup-issues/td-p/3408549/page/ No solution for me, sorry.

11. Maybe try this: http://help.ea.com/au/article/connection-issues-with-origin/#1

12. I also deleted the download cache folder and that didn't solve anything either...

13. Well... Have a look at these forums yourself, and try other things, may these help you 😞

I refuse to contact EA again if they keep giving me no solutions to this problem. ☹️

Btw, have you reloaded your games already? To see if they're still in your my-games-list?

Or check your order history to see if you purchased it or if it "disappeared"... (I don't exactly know how it's called on the English version of Origin :P)

I don't know how to solve this for you dude... I'm sorry, because this problem hasn't encountered on my mac... yet...
