You've downloaded the diagnostic tool, not the reset tool. The Origin reset tool is the first section in this page - https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/

And to clarify, it is not an installation file, it is a tool which clears all cache, preference and related files to make Origin like new again.

So I've just ran the reset tool, Origin was closed during the process. After accepting the terms of use, it tried to open Origin but it immediately closed like always. I tried opening it again and it keeps doing the same thing.

Ok. Please could you set up a new user account on your Mac and see if it opens in that?

Okay, I've just logged into a new account and the problem still persists.

I think maybe a complete uninstall and re-install of Origin is in order. Reset Origin the manual way (the reset tool omits one file unfortunately), trash the Origin app from your Applications folder, empty the trash then download a new installer https://www.origin.com/gbr/en-us/store/download
