I keep getting this error (also attached):
Unable to start:
Unable to start due to missing game data. Please download The Sims 4 Legacy Edition from Origin.
[5de4b8a3:29f00e76:00000000:00000000]
In the EA folder there is a folder called The Sims 4 Legacy Edition. Inside that there are three items: the "saves" folder, UserData.lock and UserSetting.ini. There's nothing else in the folder. I'm guessing this is what the error message is referring to. I backed up my original EA with my saves and such. Can I just copy that over to the The Sims 4 Legacy Edition folder?
Incidentally, the game ran fine on my current Mac with each update until this last one a few days ago. And I've been playing Sims 4 since it came out, plus Sims 1, 2 & 3 before that, so I'm not a newbie.
Anyway, any help would be appreciated. I miss my Sim peeps.
Thanks.
UPDATE: When launching the Legacy edition, I noticed a folder called "scratch" appear for literally one second in the "saves" folder of The Sims 4 Legacy Editionfolder. Then it disappears and the error message noted above appears. This is repeatable.
