Do you have any 3rd party video/screenshot apps installed? Can you check your Modifier Keys in System Preferences > Keyboard > Modifier Keys and see if the CTRL key now has the CMD key function.

i looked at what you have told me and it is the same. however it is still not working, and i have tried to restore the game.
do you have any other ideas on what this might be?

Yes, something on your Mac is overriding the keys. The screenshot command on a Mac is CMD, Shift and C. The cheat console in-game is CTRL, Shift and C. Whenever you use that key combination your Mac is taking a screenshot because the default OS key combo has been changed CTRL, Shift and C to take a screenshot.

Thanks. That all looks good. You need to check if any other app running, especially in the background, has overridden the default settings. The cheat console is always CTRL, Shift and C.
