im also having issues after updating to high sierra on my mac. i was clearing out space because my mac was getting full, i now have 30 GB of free space on my laptop. after i did the update i tried opening the sims to see it didn’t show load game. i then checked in my finder and my save files were all gone and so was my cc and mods. i thought maybe i had thrown them away on accident because i had just deleted documents. so i spent hours using data recovery software to try and get my old files back. which it did give me back some save files a bit of cc but they were much older versions from 2017-2019. none from 2020-now. i’ve been at this for hours and nothing i do seems to be working. i did everything that was posted on the first page except the last step, because i now cannot find the documents>sims 4 folder where it usually is. if i search sims 4 it shows several different folder (about 4). if anyone can help i would be super grateful, i don’t want to lose all my stuff! 😭

Have you tested each Sims 4 folder you have, presumably they contain all the usual data files and folders such as Saves, mods, tray, Options.ini, to see if they load in your game and which one may contain your missing saves?- 2 years ago
all the folders except for one only had 1 mod in them. no save files or anything else. there is one with about 3 mods in it and some saves but none with everything in it. also my game keeps reinstalling all my packs when i start it up. my game says it’s repairing right now. which i’ve tried already and it didn’t help

A Spotlight/Finder search does not find the Sims 4 folder when it is in the correct location in Documents > Electronic Arts because it is hidden. No idea why, this is something between EA and Apple. Please open Terminal and copy and paste the following search command then hit Enter/Return:
find ~ -type d -name "*The Sims 4*" 2>/dev/null
After a little while it will return the results of the search. Please copy and paste the results in a post here. This is a thorough search of your Mac user account and will show us all directories with The Sims 4 in the title.
