Forum Discussion
Hello,
I just recently bought a new macbook M3 pro and I downloaded the EA app to play sims. However, my previous saves are not on my EA app. I've tried following the directions from previous forums and nothing has worked. Granted I did get this laptop last night, I did see somewhere that it took someone a while to get their previous saves. I have uninstalled and redownloaded the Sims multiple times. I have tried to change the file location for the install. I downloaded the EA folder from iCloud and made sure that it's in my documents and nothing. My previous saves still won't show up. I was willing to give up and just start over, but after saving it and then coming back to the game, it didn't even save and I just finished playing like minutes prior. It keeps how long i've been playing the game so it has something saved on this app. I don't know what else to do. I've started a case and just waiting for a reply. I'm currently doing the only thing I can think of which is uninstalling everything and reinstalling again, but this time starting with the origin app as with my last computer I had the origin app before the EA app. If anyone else had this problem, any advice while I wait for my case to be answered would be greatly appreciated so that I can get back to playing sims again.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the game and/or EA App is unnecessary because the game installation has no bearing on the Sims 4 folder that contains your saves and other user data. Your Sims 4 folder needs to be in your local Documents folder, in an Electronic Arts folder, not in a Documents folder within iCloud. See the opening post on page one for further explanation and solution.
