So i updated my mac to tahoe 26 (the september 2025 ios update) and now my games files arent even being read. It just shows as files with question marks over them. When i opened the game it said there was an unrecognized video card but I fixed that. Ive fixed the graphics drivers and now it says it can find and support them. I also uninstalled the game and repaired it twice. I play with mods but Ive taken out the entire folder and its still doing this. It caused me to lose my over 2 years played save which pissed me off but now I just want to play the game and be done with it.

When I opened the game after installing a software update, it loaded in as if I were a new user. I checked the save file and all of the files were still in it, but weren't showing in the game. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the game ,which deleted the saves, but I'm kinda over it now. I am not sure if it's an iCloud issue, but I know it's not a storage problem.
Uninstalling the game has no effect on the Sims 4 user data folder, this is a very common misconception amongst players. But iCloud does interfere as it is all to do with storage on your Mac.
Merging your posts into the iCloud master thread as iCloud is the culprit. The opening post has more information.
