shift click not working testingcheats true

Hi!

i'm trying to use testingcheats true but it doesn't seam to work. I can open the cheat box, i can type the cheats in it. i the see the line that the cheats are on but when i shift click on my sim the cheat options are not there.

Sims, origin and computer are all running the latest version.

@Bluebellflora Hi, thank you for your time. I just realized that my computer is broken and one of my shift keys, the one on the left, isn't working. sorry for the troubles.

@fred_mainville Try typing it in while you are in the worlds screen and not in Live mode. I think you need to turn it on BEFORE you get into live mode.

It will work in Live Mode.

Are you using a Mouse or Trackpad? Have you changed the click controls in System Preferences at all from the default ones?

Could you post a screenshot of the options that appear after you shift click on your Sim?

@Bluebellflora hi! using the track pad. the setting for right click is double click but up until last week i would just shift click on my sims to activate the cheats.
Nothing happens when i shift click, i just get the normal option (ex.: form group...)

Thanks 🙂 So just a single click whilst holding down Shift should suffice. Do you have Force Click and haptic feedback enabled?

Just checking also that you definitely get the message that cheats are enabled after entering testingcheats true?

@Bluebellflora i do get the message that cheats are enabled. Force click and hectic feedback are enabled i can turn it off tho

Yeah, give that a try. I don't think it will really help but you never know, definitely worth a try.

If you have any Mods move them out, trash the localthumbcache file in the Sims 4 folder then see if it works.

You could also try a repair. Which version of macOS are you running?

Question - Please Help - Got in to my sims tonight and when i try to - Shift + click - to access my cheats - the camera zooms out??
i have done full repairs, i have checked game play i am not sure what to do but its driving me nuts!!
