9890c8fdc372be52 please see the solution in this thread and follow all the steps to completely trash all Sims 4 and Origin/EA App installation files and reinstall - Game Data Incomplete, grey llamas, red and white sims, broken textures | EA Forums - 10985476
If your external drive does not have fast enough read/write speeds you will always encounter the issue. Any further issues with this, please post in the thread linked above.
