Sims 4 crashing when editing sims (unplayable)

Over the past couple months I haven't been able to play Sims 4 on my mac because it keeps crashing whenever I try to edit any of my sims. When I try to edit my sims it just keeps getting stuck in the loading screen and then it starts playing songs overtop of each other, and then I have to force quit the game each time. I've tried to continue my game with out editing any of my sims, but it just makes the game unenjoyable and not worth playing. I have talked to some people I know who play and they have been having the same issue, so please get this fixed because it has been months with no improvement, and I just want to be able to play again.
