You have tried the super repair, it’s where you look in the app and trash the file 🙂
Maybe Origin in-game causing the issue, can you disable it in Origin > Preferences?
Ah ok!
So I just tried going to origin > preferences > unchecked enable origin in gameplay and it still did not work.
It occurred to me that I have done so much with emptying files and other troubleshooting that at this point I may be missing files I NEED to run the game, so I am including some screenshots of my sims 4 folder. (All blue folders in the screenshots including the mods folder are empty) I don't know if that will help you help me but I am desperate!

Thanks for the screenshots. Are those lastCrash files recent, as in they have been created in the last few days? - 5 years ago
I'm not sure, I'm not computer literate enough to know. Is there a way I can find out? If I had to guess they ate from when I tried to open it after other fixes, so likely they are recent.

Look at the Date Modified in a Finder window. This is a good help page from Apple on how to use Finder https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201732 - 3 years ago
Hi @heytherehil I'm having the same issue, I know this thread is from March of 2021 but I'm wondering if you ever figured out a solution?
