Sims 4 is extremely slow and laggy & gallery items are corrupted [MAC & EA APP]
I recently updated from Origin to the EA App. Since I have a MacBook pro the Sims has always run a bit slow, however, since updating to the EA app it has become almost unbearable. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the main game screen, often I have to force quit the game and start over since it stops responding. I initially updated all my mods but kept having issues so I removed all of my mods and cc. I currently have NO mods or cc installed. The other major issue is that my gallery is corrupted. About half of my creations say "item is corrupted would you like to delete?" I click yes/check and nothing happens. The items don't have red X's or anything they are simply blank/empty. For example, I can see the image of the entire family in my gallery but the individual pictures are empty and when I click on them I get the pop-up saying it is corrupted. This has also happened to many of my lots, in addition to households. I can't check my graphics card since I have a MacBook. I have also tried the method suggested in a similar thread from a few years ago (making a new folder, renaming the old one, and moving over saves/tray) but it didn't solve the issue. Everything is still corrupted. The only method I've found to work is so tedious that it is almost not worth it. I have to place the corrupted family into CAS, and they appear perfectly fine then save the newly placed family to my gallery. This takes a long time, especially for lots, and also erases the initial creation date. Does anyone have any advice for how to fix my game/gallery all at once? Everything I've seen is for Windows/Origin and those solutions aren't working. I have also repaired the game in the EA app about a dozen times and it has done nothing.
(I realize this is the wrong forum, I didn't notice until after I posted as I have never used this before, however when I went to post my problem in the Mac forum it was marked as spam so I'm leaving it up here for now)
"I can't check my graphics card since I have a MacBook." Absolutely not true. Please provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so and what to provide here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612396/highlight/true#M162
The items in the Tray folder in the Sims 4 folder make up the households and Lots in the in-game Library. If those files are corrupted it may be causing the issue.
