Which model Macs do you all have and which version of macOS?
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? Deutsch
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.107.151.1230
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansions, most game packs (only missing Batuu and Werewolfs) and most stuff packs (only missing Bowling and Luxury Party)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Trying to start the game
What happens when the bug occurs? The game does start, but it's stuck in an endless loop and Spinning Wait Cursor. It shows that the program is not reacting.
What do you expect to see? The game starts normally and the program is reacting.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This issue startet since the Patch 1.107.151.1230
As fixes, I repaired the game and I uninstalled and reinstalled the game - I still have this issue.
I also have this issue - my Mac is a MacBook Pro from 2022 with 13" and Apple M2 Chip. The macOS version is Sonoma 14.4.1.
Have you tried a clean folder as described here? - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M163
Make sure you enable vsync after moving/renaming the Sims 4 folder and first launch the game.
Yes, I did this - oddly, the "letting the game create a new folder" worked. You just have to love this stuff ...
Thank you so much!
- @kuriermaedchen Just a note on the side - It only works, if I don't put back my save files and the tray folder.

Moving or renaming the Sims 4 folder is the number one troubleshooting step you should always try. If the game works it indicates a problem with the user data and discounts a problem with the game installation.
You have a problem with one or more saves and items in the Tray folder which you need to now narrow down. Move the saves out of the saves folder then test them one by one by moving them back in and launching the game to see if they load. I have this issue as well, but it has only started happening 2 days ago. I have no mods and it just crashes ☹️
