Sims 4 on Mac crashes during startup
I've downloaded the Sims 4 via Origin on my Mac about a year ago I think and I've played almost 800 hours. I use a lot of mods and it's crashed before, but in those cases it opened until the plumbob spinning part and then crashed and I could just try and weed out the offending mod. Now, however, it opens the window, goes to the black screen for about 10 seconds and then immediately crashes. I already tried moving all my mods away and back, and in both cases the exact same thing happens so I don't think it them.
I haven't played in a while and I did update my Mac to Mojave. Could that have something to do with it?
The last "last crash" thing in the folder is from the beginning of november 2018. Origin and the game are up to date and I tried the 'repair' option in Origin.
I looked at just about every thread I could find on this topic but none of them were exactly like mine and none of the suggestions have worked.
Any suggestions are highly welcome!
Also I didn't know if I should put this here or in the general sims 4 board so if I should try there please let me know!
@Skesa95, the November 2018 patch rendered all Core Script Mods useless unless the Creators have updated them to work with the November or later patches. To test if one of your Mods is the cause of the game crashing, move the entire Sims 4 folder to your Desktop. Start up the game and start a new game to test to make sure the game runs ok without other issues.
Before adding back your Mods, you should check the sites of the creators of your mods and make sure that they did update it or that it did not need to be updated. Download the latest versions, adding them back to your new folder in Documents.
Make sure that Origin In Game is turned off in your Origin Preferences.
Please keep us updated.
