Solved

sims 4 packs broken, cannot download them because their files are gone.

Two of my game packs (horse ranch expansion pack, EP10 and snowy escape EP14) will not show up in my game, and I cannot download them in the EA app. when I try to download these packs or repair, I get the notification "that folder doesn't exist" and that I need to check my installation destination. I have checked and it seems normal, the rest of my packs download like normal, and exist in my files.

what seems to be the problem is that those two game packs don't exist in my files, they don't show up when I search them up, so I can't find them and delete them to reinstall them, because they are just not there, in the EA app it says that I do own these packs, and I have checked that they were bought with my account, they have just suddenly disappeared from my files.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall my game, clear cache/fix app in EA, repair the game, restart the whole Mac, restart the EA app, searched for the game pack files, but with no luck.

please help me😭

  • they are nowhere to be found in my pack folder, or in any of my folders, which I think might be the problem.

Could you post a screenshot of the Sims 4 Packs folder contents in Finder? Would be interesting to see what is in there. If you have a lot of contents you may need to post a couple of screenshots to capture it all. Make sure you have the path bar enabled at the bottom of the Finder window - View > Show Path Bar. Please do not use the search in Finder/ Spotlight, actually manual navigate to the game installation location.

Could you also post a screenshot of the error message you're getting about the folder not existing.

Thanks but as you can see those screenshots are totally illegible. Is that your screenshots or the forum ruining them? Can you take a screenshot of just the error message using CMD, Shift + 4? And the same in sections of the Sims 4 Packs folder?

Edit - ok, I managed to finally load the screenshots directly from your post. What happens if you manually create the folder it's looking for in that location?

    Simsalabim554 Ok.

    1. Uninstall the game completely via EA App
    2. Manually trash every single EA App file, instructions - https://bluebellflora.com/2024/04/04/ea-app-recovery-for-mac-reset-ea-app-by-clearing-cache-and-other-files-manually/
    3. Launch EA App and login
    4. Disable automatic updates in the EA App Settings
    5. Download only the base game. Launch the game and quit
    6. Download each pack and launch the game to check they work after each pack, do not tick all the packs to download consecutively

Let me know how you get on :)
