Temperature problems with new MAC

Hi,

I just changed my computer from a MacBook Air M2 to a MacBook Pro M4. From day one the new computer gets really hot (105ºC) in the moment I start playing in The Sims 4 so I was wondering if someone have this problem also and if it's a way to fix it.

I've tried putting the settings in low mode + no cc and no mods, and is not working. the only possible solution I have for the moment is turning on the battery saving mode.

Are The Sims 4 having compatibility issues with the M4 chips from Apple??

Looking forward to hear from someone who can give me hope, I really like the computer and playing the sims

Hi, not sure if this will help - when i play on my mac i always use a laptop cooling pad. google or look on amazon. i always use the high setting on the laptop cooling pad. my mac still gets hot but the cooling pad helps.

No. I also play on an M4 Mac, specifically a high spec. M4 Max, for hours. Yes it gets hot, that is as expected given all the hardware that is crammed into a slim casing and the game is taxing therefore producing heat. Never play with your Mac on a nice soft surface, always on a hard surface so air can circulate. They are designed to allow air to circulate underneath. And yes, as Zashab_4 has stated, try to use a USB powered cooling fan laptop tray to help cool it. Close down all other applications too when you play.

You'll know if the temperature is getting dangerously hot because your Mac will shut down to protect itself.

How do you know your Mac is getting to 105F? What app are you using to monitor this? Apple have a good practice page here https://support.apple.com/en-gb/102336

    Hi,
I think the problem is due to V-Sync NOT being enabled. It seems that it is overworking the CPU/GPU particularly in the menu. I have a M2 Pro 12 core CPU, 19 Core GPU.

I suggest you turn on V-Sync and it should be fine.
