No. I also play on an M4 Mac, specifically a high spec. M4 Max, for hours. Yes it gets hot, that is as expected given all the hardware that is crammed into a slim casing and the game is taxing therefore producing heat. Never play with your Mac on a nice soft surface, always on a hard surface so air can circulate. They are designed to allow air to circulate underneath. And yes, as Zashab_4 has stated, try to use a USB powered cooling fan laptop tray to help cool it. Close down all other applications too when you play.
You'll know if the temperature is getting dangerously hot because your Mac will shut down to protect itself.
How do you know your Mac is getting to 105F? What app are you using to monitor this? Apple have a good practice page here https://support.apple.com/en-gb/102336
