The camera won't tilt :(

Hi, i have just gotten a new macbook air and i downloaded the sims 4, which i previously had on my other macbook air. I have enabled the sims 3 camera mode and done as everyone has advised and also what i used to do (which worked) which was to use ctrl and then rotate with the right side of the trackpad. I used to do this and it worked perfect but now that i have the game on my new laptop its not working, i have tried many times. I disabled the sims 3 camera mode, quit the game the enabled it again but it still didn't work ☹️ I have looked at many threads and videos but nothing is working.
