The EA app and The Sims 4 running ridiculously slow

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? Russian
How often does the bug occur? Every time I open the game
What is your current game version number? The last update before Life and Death came out
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? EP: Seasons, City Living, Get to Work, Cats&Dogs, Get Famous, Island Living, Discover University, Eco Lifestyle, Growing together.  GP: Outdoor Retreat, Dine Out, Parenthood, Realm of Magic, Dream Home Decorator. SP: Laundry Day, Nifty Knitting, Romantic Garden, Backyard, My First Pet, Tiny Living. Kits: Country Kitchen, Blooming Rooms.

Mac info: MacBook Pro, 2018, 15 inches. Sonoma 14.5, Processor - Intel Core i7, Memory 16Gb, Free space - 51 Gb.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open the game, play for the first 30 minutes.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game starts to work at as what seems 2 fps. Very slow and glitchy.
What do you expect to see? A game running smoothly.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? I have removed them long before the last update.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No idea, I haven't played in a while.

Would like to add, that the EA app seems to be also running particularly slow. I know my Mac is old and had some issues in the past, but those were repaired and never affected its performance with other demanding apps, that cause it to run hotter than usual. I have also completely deleted cache AND started a new game. No idea what's going on, would appreciate any advice.

How much internal storage is available?

How much RAM is available in Activity Monitor?

If you restart your Mac and then immediately launch EA App and the game does it make a difference?

    Hi!

    I have 74.98 Gb free

In attachment - info on RAM

And no, there's no difference, I tried it several times

    Thanks. Memory looks fine.

    - What other demanding apps are you referring to?

    - What surface do you have your Mac on when you play?

    - Which dedicated GPU does your Mac have? Apple > About This Mac > More Info... > System Report > Graphics/Displays

    - Is EA App slow right from launch? Or if you try and do something in it when the game is running?

    - Does your game lag in certain situations or all the time?

    - What is the size of your save files?

    - I have Adobe Photoshop 2024 installed, Mac heats up when I run it

    - It stands on a ventilation stand that I turn on every time I play The Sims or use Adobe

    - Built-in Retina Display. 15,4 inch (2880x1800)

    - Slow from launch

    - Lags more when I speed up the game (when sims sleep, for example). But even if I don't it still gets slow

    - I have one save, it has 4 versions, each 4.2 Mb

Thanks but need the GPU info, not the display info:

Apple > About This Mac > More Info... > System Report > Graphics/Displays:

This is really important info because Photoshop and the game use the dedicated GPU.

Have you ever blown compressed air through the vents in the Mac? After 6 years there's bound to be loads of dust and fluff in the fans. What repair work did you have done to the Mac? It maybe that the OS is throttling power to the game to stop your Mac from overheating to the point where it could cause hardware damage although this doesn't explain why EA App is laggy. Before you next open EA App have Activity Monitor open set to have the list in order by CPU usage, see what is using so much processing power.
