TS4 stuck on "verifying" and doesn't open

My game sometimes loads and allows me to play but mostly gets stuck on "Verifying 'The Sims 4'". I recently moved my game to an external hard drive to save storage on my Mac, and I think this is the root of the problem since it never happened before this. Is my only option to move the game back to my regular applications folder? I wanted to avoid that since the game is 30GBs with my packs installed.

If you can't keep the drive plugged in all the time, yes. It may be worth checking the speed of your drive as slower speeds can cause issues.

No, the symlink doesn't require verification. The verification message you're seeing is Gatekeeper checking the game installation is safe 🙂

Thanks for the reply. So would the best solution be to uninstall and reinstall back on my regular applications folder? I also moved my game files to the external drive with a symbiotic link, so I guess I would have to undo that too?

Yes, it is because you are using an external drive and happens after having previously removed the drive and plugged it back in. It can also happen if the drive is slow and doesn't have sufficient read/write speeds.
