Unable to start: The Sims 4 is already running - Mac only

Help! My daughter can't run Sims 4. No idea what to do to help her. We're running a iMac on Monterey. Just updated yesterday. Today get this error message. No sign of anything running in background. Thanks

    Check the game, Origin and Sims 4 folder have full permissions in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy.
