There is no option to launch the game in 64-bit in Origin for Mac as there has only ever been a 64-bit version of the game for macOS, those instructions are for Windows. Are you playing in Windows in a Boot Camp partition?
The error message is caused by the game/Origin not have full permission to access the Sims 4 folder. It is a well known and common error and is not a bug in the game.
It seems like many people are having the same problem as me. I am using the EA app and get this message every time I try to launch the game: "The Sims™ 4 is already running Go ahead and start playing. It's a good one. OK". I have been getting this message for over 2 weeks now and have completely run out of fixes. I've done just about everything and have spoke with tech support several times with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!
Things I have done:
Uninstall/Reinstall EA App
Uninstall/Reinstall Sims 4
Made sure TS4 was not running in Task Manager
Cleared EA Cache
Repaired game files
Several other misc. things while spending hours with Tech Support - none of which were successful.
Thank you again in advance.
