Unable to start: The Sims 4 is already running - Mac only

If you're experiencing this error message it doesn't mean your game is already running, the actual message itself is incorrect. It means The Sims 4 cannot access the Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 fold...

Hey!

My Sims 4 won't start, my mac keeps saying that it's already running when i try to start it even though i've checked that no apps are open. I've also tried restarting the computer, didn't help :/  No clue if the problem is with my computer, origin or sims. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

It's most likely a permissions issue on your Mac. See the solution on page 1 for further help.
