Unable to start: The Sims 4 is already running - Mac only

Hello, I'm someone who plays Sims 4 using MacBook Pro. I've tried working Sims 4 for the first time in a while, and when I start Sims 4 on the EA app, it doesn't even show the start screen and won't run. When I put the mouse over the Sims 4 icon, it says the application doesn't respond. I deleted and reinstalled Sims 4, and I also deleted and reinstalled the EA app. I rebooted my laptop several times, but it doesn't work. What should I do? Please help.
