Unable to start: The Sims 4 is already running - Mac only

Hi, I just got a new Mac air and I download the EA app and in it the sims 4. Whenever I try to launch/play sims4 it says: sims already running and the some random numbers ive tried dellyting all my mods and many other things nothing has helped yet please someone help?
