I recently followed the bluebellflora guide on running my sims 4 game from a external hard drive and after hours I finally got it working then after trying to open the game on another day, it wouldn't open. At first i believed it was a cc item because once I removed all mods and cc it launched, however my game would then not launch at all and just load, then close and say it was not responding. It also sometimes gives me an error code saying it's unable to start because the sims 4 is already running. My hard drive is plugged in and I've tried giving origin and sims 4 "full disk access"AND "removable volumes" I'm not sure what else to do. Ive tried reversing the symlink and doing it again, removing mods, quitting origin, launching it from another account on my Mac and using those files. Also in finder, my electronic arts folder has the little arrow and shows up as alias. Can anyone help please?
You must make sure the external is fully mounted and the contents fully populated in Finder before attempting to launch the gain. Go into the drive contents and open the deepest level folders.
Can you post a screenshot of System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files & Folders.
