I've got a Mac and play the sims on the ea app. The game requires an update now and as I click to update the game it won't update cause of not enough disk space, it says there's a certain amount of mg free space, so I try to free up some space by deleting a couple of downloads and retry the update again. But after I retry to update, each time it requires more free mg space.
How do I free up the disk space??

Yes, this is normal behaviour for Origin/EA App. You really do need to free up space on your Mac for the download. It's similar to when you apply macOS updates, it requires more space than the download size.
