Why does origin immediately crash on MacOS Monterey?

Hi,

I have a brand new 16" Macbook Pro with M1 chip and MacOS Monterey and every time I download and install, and try to delete and reinstall Origin immediately crashes? It's not blocked by my firewall and I am the admin and only user for my Mac.

I have the same problem. I am running Mac OS Monterey 12.2. I have an m1 chip.

    • Are you attempting to play the normal version of the game or the Legacy Edition? the normal version
    • Are you running any antivirus? no
    • Have you tried to repair the game in Origin? I cant even get Origin to launch. The icon bounces then stops and doesn't open.
    • Do you use CC/Mods? If so, have you tried removing them and seeing if that fixes your problem? I do use both but again, origin wont open. I am not even trying to launch sims 4 at this point, I am trying to launch origin.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted cache folders, ran first aid via disk utility as well as in recovery mode, made a second profile on my mac, checked proxies, checked internet connection, and I still cant get it to launch.

Then maybe all you can do is wait for Maxis/Apple to fix whatever is causing the problem as there are multiple reports related to crashing in Monterey.

That's what I was thinking too. It was working the day before and then I updated the OS to Monterey. I just hope they do it soon cause I've spent way too much money on TS4. ☹️

    Thanks for your help!
