GUYS I SORTED IT. i went into origin and pressed the settings button next to 'play' on sims 4 and pressed 'repair' then 'update game' then opened sims and clicked on my household and the last save and it worked.
I’ve done this at least 15 times in the last 3 days and can’t get any family to load. I’ve been trying different tricks for the last two hours, no dice. Using Origin on a MacBook Air.

Hey I figured it out (5 hours later)! It was father winter who screwed my save over. I reloaded the game from a save before winterfest happened and everything is fine now. I removed him from the winterfest event.
- @Pdog2607 This worked for me as well. 👍🏼 My game has loaded with no problems since repairing. Well, with the exception of my toddlers not eating the food they're holding 🤨 🤒
