The same thing is happening to me.
thought it was the saves so I cleared the cache, removed my saves started a new game and after I finished create a sim it was just empty. I can’t choose a world.
And with my saves it just continuously loads and have to quit the game.
@Birdee-2-fly Does your computer run Windows or macOS? Try repairing the game in Origin: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.

* Repaired my game twice(second time just now before posting and all issues still persist) *
Restarted the iMac multiple times, no other applications open, all latest game updates are installed - issue appeared after the November's update as for everybody else
iMac(Retina 5K 27-inch, 2019)
Processor 3.7 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5
Memory 8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Graphics Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB
macOS Catalina 10.15.7
Cannot start new Game - it does not show any worlds
Cannot continue playing existing Game as Sims just won't respond to commands, cannot interact with objects and if some options are available, then it takes time for them to appear after clicking; Game eventually freezes and I have to force quit it(Application not responding). Once had an error message that application has run out of memory(was showing 55+GB which is insane)
Household takes forever to load
I must say it all started with crashes, but it was still playable. No crashes or any other issues before the update
