In the Origin app, right-click on the gear icon next to the Play button and select "Repair".
I’m still having this problem. I can’t get past the loading screen. Has anyone on Mac updated to Big Sur since the latest Sims update? and if so has this fixed the issue???
I updated to Big Sur and then installed the new Sims update. I have been unable to get into the game as it's been loading now for over 24 hrs. I thought I'd let it keep going to see whether the first open would take longer than subsequent, but it's just not starting.
@rain3ybain3y I'm not sure. I was late to the party with the OS Big Sur update, and had (incorrectly) thought that people would be all over it by the time I get there should there be issues.
But Windows machines are having issues with the new Sims patch as well, therefore leads me to think it is a Sims problem...
I can't seem to find the repair game feature mentioned in this thread. I've cleared (or removed certain files from) the Sims cache folders as per advice, which hasn't helped. Not exactly sure what's left. Any help out there much appreciated.
I updated to Big Sur 2 days ago and still had the same problem. Yesterday the game finally loaded but only worked for 5 minutes before freezing - couldn't switch characters or send commands, items had no functions, Sims were all frozen in place. Sound was fine
