[WORKAROUND] game window displays Sims 4 title and cannot be changed

Hello, yesterday I mirrored my MAC screen to another laptop (my own), since then my sims 4 has been having mouse calibration issues on top of other things.

When I go into full screen, the sims 4 title on the top of the window will not go away. This in turn has made it so that my cursor to click onto anything has to be below the object I want to click on, instead of the usual click onto the object to select.

I've tried resetting my computer, restoring the game, opening and closing the app/game. Nothing seems to be working. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue? I attached an image below to give an example of what my screen looks like.

Thanks to beeper1812 troubleshooting with me we’ve found a workaround:

    1. make sure Sims 4 and EA App are closed
    2. create a new user account on your Mac
    3. login to the new user account
    4. launch the game in that account, the game screen should be back to normal
    5. close the game
    6. login to your usual Mac user account and copy the TS4 user data folder that contains your saves etc. onto an external drive or copy into the Shared folder
    7. login to the new user account
    8. trash the Sims 4 folder the game created in Documents > Electronic Arts during step 4 and copy your usual TS4 folder into the Electronic Arts folder
    9. launch the game. All your saves and other user data should be loaded and the display issue still resolved
