“Application not found”

When I try to open the game, it says “application not found”. The only option is “ok”, and when I press that, it says “Failed to start process for this game : ‘This operation was canceled by the user’ (0x4C7)” How do I fix this?

  • @Lunar1Lunar  Please uninstall the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine), and restart your computer before reinstalling the App.  If that alone doesn't help, please run the App as an admin: right-click the desktop shortcut and select "Run as administrator."  Do the same with Steam or the Epic launcher if you're using either of those.

If that doesn't help, please post a screenshot of the error.

How did you figure out how to uninstall the EA app? It's telling me it doesn't exist even though it does....

@CAbyss1988  Try downloading a fresh copy of the App installer and running it.  You may get the option to repair the App instead; select that.  If the App still won't work after this repair, you should at least be able to uninstall it with Revo.

  • This issue exactly is happening to me and last time I reached out to EA support they cancelled the ticket without helping. This forum provides an uninstall option but I did that, uninstalled the game, restarted the machine, reinstalled and still it's not working.

@Carizzle143  The file in your first screenshot is a component of the EA App, so please uninstall the App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) and reinstall it.  If Revo can't find the EA App, download a fresh copy of the App installer and run it.  If you're asked to repair an existing install, choose that.  Then if you get the same original error, remove the App with Revo and reinstall.

Once the App is installed again, run it as an admin: right-click its desktop shortcut and select "Run as administrator."  Don't try to launch Sims 4 until the App is fully loaded.
