After the last update I can only create new households but not get back to my previously played ones.
This has happend twice now. Can I fix this or do i have to expect that eveytime there#s an update I can start from the beginning?

Do you have any other files then slot_00000001.save and slot_00000001.save.verX (X being a number between 0 and 4) ?
@DevyR5656 You'd just need to experiment with the backup saves to see whether any of them let you save your progress. Here's how to recover a backup save:

How did you determine which save was corrupted? I'm having this same issue, and I'm wondering if one of my saves is the problem.
@thatrandomuser1 Typically, when one save is corrupt, you can still load the others. If that's not the case, remove all the saves from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves and then put one back, and see if it loads. If it doesn't, remove it and try a different save.
The files with a .verx on the end are backups, so try the main saves first. If none of them load, you can remove the .verx extension from a backup and try to load it instead. You'll also need to renumber the save so it doesn't have the same name as any other. The number needs to be eight digits long and in hexidecimal format: consisting of only the digits 0 to 9 and/or the letters a to f.
