Re: [CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 4 Unable to Start, Game Data Missing or Damaged

Whenever I try to start the game, I get the message that game data is missing or damaged, so I can't start the game. I thought my mods might be playing up (I haven't played in a while, but I had quite a few CAS mods), but when I go into the game folder there isn't a mods folder anywhere and I can't find any files that look like mods anywhere else in the game folder. 

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, restarting my computer, and running the repair function. I also saw a reply on a similar issue saying to rename the game folder so that it creates a new one or something similar, but it just tells me that I can't because the folder is open elsewhere (I can't find where, this happens even when I restart the computer and do this immediately). 

UPDATE: so turns out my mods files were on my onedrive for some reason and the onedrive had logged me out. feels like such a stupid reason but at least it was an easy fix once I realised it.
