After sims 4 update my game keeps time freezing

Hello, my sims 4 recently updated with the new patch for summer sessions. Ever since then my game always time freezes no matter which family I play. The game time freezes but animations like the weather and music in game continue, I cant click anything besides the menu and if I try to save the game it becomes an endless cycle of the saving screen. 

I’m not sure what to do

    @SimLiza_ldn First the usual question: Are you using mods/cc in your game ?

    Does this happen on every save game or just a specific one ?

    I am using mods and so far I've only tried with 1 save as the other saves are old ones from families I no longer play

    @SimLiza_ldn Could you try if it occurs without mods/cc for testing ?

    Best to move the mods folder to the desktop, delete the localthumbcache and then try on a backup of your save game (all cc stuff will be removed so make sure you backup your save beforehand) and test if the error occurs that way too.

    I found the culprit, it was a mod that was corrupted

    Try going into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 and look for a text file called lastException. If it is something in your mod folder causing an issue, it will be listed there. Try removing anything listed and it will probably cure the issue.

    Also ensure you have the latest version of any mods.
