Solved

All of my Sims are gone, NPCs aren't dead as they should be.

My Sims are gone, and dead NPCs are resurrected.

Yep.

I didn't delete anything, except for a few pieces of CC, but that was about it.

did download the Vampire Pack and update my game, recently.

I opened up my game today to make a cute vampire sim when i noticed there weren't any green plumbobs (that means you have a household over there) above San Myshuno and Windenburg.

I checked my played households and Unplayed households tab and the only sim i knew was my finished vampire sim.

Something weird happened: All of the NPCs were alive, and exactly how they were when i first purchased the game.

Bob, Eliza, (i mean, maybe their toddler had something to do with it?), the Caliente sisters, the roomies, even the NPCs from the expansion packs were alive and well-- which is weird if you've spent 160 hours on this game since 2015.

not that i'm complaining, but my sims were gone. As if i was playing through a new account.

not to mention every. single. lot i made had vanished. My Newcrest...

i spent so much time on redecorating the penthouse, and my 3 generation family ;-;.

Is this an issue with the latest update? Or the game pack?

P.S I have tried reentering the game, thrice actually, but no luck. My CC and mods were working perfectly fine, but my sims are the ones with all the problems.

They changed the way you add new Sims

You need to load your game and then use the new create a Sim button in the lower right corner of the map view to add new Sims to a certain save game.

    ~Update~

I think i got it! Well, sort of.

The main problem was that vampires were in their own saves, and humans were separate. I made another vampire sim and the first one was gone too, it was pretty much just her and the resurrected NPCs. I played with the settings and different options for a while until I tried the load game thing.

i loaded up my 3 generation save, and everyone, well, died, and my sims were back! Woo!

i tried to load my vampires in there, but turns out they're still a separate save game (if that makes any sense) .

Why are they different saves though? Because they're vampires and humans? The humans get their own world and the vampires get their own too? Or is that not supposed to happen and it's just me?

If vampires get their own world, why did my 2 vampires go their separate ways? I'm getting confused here.

oh well, at least I know my sims are safe.

Woops. Forgot i posted this. My bad.

Well, my saved games (with all my sims) are saved under my brother's name..?

When i click Load Game, there's a [Name]'s World and multiple "My Saved Game" in there.

the "My Saved Game" are the sims i newly made (exp, the vampire)

Now everytime i create a new sim, it automatically transport it to some different dimension where they're the only sim living with NPCs (which are also alive).

    Which is annoying.

The solution i have come up with for now is to use a randomly generated sim. edit their household, create my sim and delete the random.

Which is fine by me, i didn't need them using my special CC anyways.

Although, i usually just Save and Exit whenever i want to close the game. I don't use the Save Game feature much. (I'm not even sure if that's what it's called)

    Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Okay, i didn't notice that one either then.

But still, thank you for your help! While the random sims are still receiving makeovers, it's still a relief to know that it's not a bug.
