I'm having the same issue. I'm playing the legacy challenge and I'm on my 6th generation and it just started happening in this generation and of course his aspiration is for parties! All previous generations were fine and had parties. Has this been resolved or how can I fix this?
Ok, googled a little more and did a repair then went back in to play to see if it fixed it. I then realized it was my own error! I was clicking for the goal event but not on the actual event so that is why it was always going to the costume party. DUH. Make sure to click on the actual event not just the goal event box. Fixed my own error. Guess it's time for bed.
