@Rayonyx Does this happen in "windowed fullscreen" (i.e. Borderless) and windowed modes as well as fullscreen mode? Using Borderless would be a reasonable workaround. This is not a surprising issue in an older game, and Sims 4 is older by gaming standards. Many of them respond badly or unpredictably to alt-tab.

This is typically not a save-specific issue, so there's not much point in trying to transfer your sims to a new save.
