Animal relationships and gardening

Since I updated the game my sims aren't able to maintain relationships with animals (sheep/goats/cows/llamas/chickens, etc.) if I leave the lot. They all just reset, and go back to being unnamed. I also can't do anything with my garden. I'll purchase packs, but if I try to plant them it'll just throw them on the ground and the sim glitches out. Also if I leave the lot, the plants from the purchased seed pack vanishes from the sims inventory.
