Are cheats no longer working?

I haven't played Sims 4 in a while and so I missed all the hubbub of the cheats not working. I finally decide to play today and I saw that the cheats are still not working. I have tried all forms of the cheat that I have used over the years like testingcheats true, testingcheats on, testingcheatsEnabled true, testingcheatsEnabled on, testingCheatsEnabled true and testingCheatsEnabled on. None of these work at all and I get 'Unable to execute command' when I hit enter. I even tried restarting the game and doing it all over again. Are the cheats gone for good or is there another way to enable the cheats?

  • @EisQueenTia Hmmm... I use cheats every time I build basically, and I have never seen the not work - or give me that message - unless I typed it in wrong. I also just tested in my game and I am able to turn them on and I do get the message that they are enabled. Personally, I type testingcheats on. Do you have any mods or cc? have you run a game repair? You could try the following:

    • If you have mods or CC, please copy the Mods folder from your 'The Sims 4' folder to your desktop (for future reference) then delete the mods folder and localthumbcache.package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder and restart the game and so that the game will re-create the folder.
    • Then run a game repair [ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. After that, please see if the issue has stopped.
(If It fixes the situation you can re-add your mods/cc one at a time to see if one was conflicting with the function/causing the glitch - but do not re-add the old config file from the old mods folder, as it is possible for it to have become corrupted also.)
