Hello, I'm having a serious issue involving my CC downloads and it's really starting to tick me off. Basically, when I download my CC and move it like so; Documents>EA>The Sims 4>Mods It doesn't show up on my game when I enter it and try to use the CC. People keep telling me to make sure I have my Script Mods and Mods/CC enabled in the game options and I have told them multiple times that I do. When I first downloaded the sims on my new desktop a few days ago, I didn't have the resource.cfg file. I don't know if that's because I used the same disc to download it onto my laptop a few months ago or what, but I found a way to get the resource.cfg file back thinking that was probably the problem and everything would be solved, well I was wrong. I've downloaded WINRAR, searched multiple videos up on this topic and they all tell me to do the things I've already done. Some people say all they would know to do would be to reinstall the game. I'm not really looking forward to trying to reinstall my game as it takes so long to install and it's an overnight process. I would like to just be able to do a simple step that maybe I'm missing to solve this issue considering I don't even know exactly how to reinstall the game and I have extra packs that I would have to reinstall as well. Could someone please help ASAP?!?!?!

Yes, this picture is exactly what I needed!
As you can see, one of the resource.cfg-files is in your OneDrive. That means that your Sims game is using your OneDrive as the game folder and not your documents.
If you want to, you can move your Mods-folder to your OneDrive. Some people have reported that playing the game via OneDrive can cause problems, but I don't know how common it is, so you can try that if you like using OneDrive. Your option is to either uninstall OneDrive, or turn off OneDrive every time you run the game.

If you choose to not use OneDrive, please check if all your saves are in your normal Sims 4 folder, otherwise you might want to move the saves from OneDrive to the other folder. This goes for screenshots also if you want to save them, and anything you might have in your Tray-folder (sims and lots in the library).

This might happen when the game uses another file directory than usual.
In NONE of your mods are showing up at all, this could be the issue. Sounds like it.
Remove the resource.cfg from the Mods folder (it will create a new one you don't need to find one)
Start the game, enter a save and a random household, save, and exit again.
Go to your file/windows explorer and search for "resource.cfg", Make the file explorer full screen and take a screen shot of the results, and post it here (original size so that I can see everything)

@CMekiNow if I remove the resource.cfg file and it creates a new one, is the new one supposed to show up under mods after I remove the one I have? Because no new one shows up. Or does it just not show up and I do all the other steps then screenshot my files?

@CMekiIf you need me to go further into detail on that last reply, basically what I did yesterday was I tried deleting all my CC and re-downloading a couple CC items to see if it would work that way I wouldn't waste my time on finding a ton of CC and not being able to use it. So, I have two CC items in my mods and I removed the resource.cfg file so the only files located in my mods folder right now are the two CC files I've downloaded to use when I test out whether the CC works now or not. No new resource.cfg file appeared in my mods folder once I removed the current one I had. Is the new one supposed to show up? Also, does it matter what house I go into and save? Can it be one of the prebuilt houses since I've just now switched the base game from my laptop to my desktop and don't have any houses built because I've been so caught up on my CC issue. Also, are you trying to say I'm supposed to Remove the resource.cfg file, go into the game, go to a prebuilt house, save that gameplay, exit the game, go onto my files and screenshot it and post it? I'm really confused and awful at understanding things so I wanted to make sure I understood before doing anything that could mess something up. Sorry if I'm causing you any trouble. :/

@CMekiThis is all that popped up when I searched "resource.cfg" in my file explorer. So I'm not sure if that's what need to show up or not.

Sure thing! One last question, if I do disable OneDrive can I go back to using my original resource.cfg file and storing my mods in my documents?

Yes. You may need to Repair the game in Origin.
Also note that you don't have to turn off OneDrive entirely. In its settings you can choose which folders are synced. By default Documents and all subfolders are included.
